The Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) has secured a multi-year extension with CBS Sports, which will see an increased number of matches broadcast on CBS Sports Network and the CBS Television Network. This partnership signifies a major step for women’s professional volleyball, aiming to boost national visibility and cultivate a larger fanbase. The expanded deal, which began with a minimum of 10 matches in 2024, will feature up to 20 matches on CBS Sports Network in 2025, including the PVF Championship semifinals and final. A historic moment will occur when one PVF match is broadcast on the CBS Television Network, marking the first time a professional volleyball match airs on national over-the-air television.
This collaboration with CBS Sports coincides with a notable surge in volleyball’s popularity across all levels. Volleyball is currently the most popular team sport among high school girls in the United States, and the excitement generated by NCAA women’s volleyball matches has further fueled this growth. The PVF, recognized as the only professional volleyball league currently featured on national broadcast television, is at the forefront of this movement, making the sport more accessible to millions of fans and creating new avenues for sponsorships and partnerships.
Additionally, CBS Sports has partnered with Volleyball World and the Big Ten Network to broadcast elite international volleyball. This groundbreaking agreement will bring comprehensive coverage of the 2025 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) and FIVB World Championships to American audiences, including all matches featuring the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams. This partnership is seen as a pivotal moment for volleyball in the U.S., providing fans with consistent, high-quality access to major international competitions.
