F1 Expands Reach in Latin America and Caribbean with ESPN

Formula 1 has announced an extension of its partnership with ESPN, ensuring comprehensive coverage across 18 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean through the 2028 season. This renewed collaboration, beginning with the 2026 season opener in Melbourne, will provide fans with access to every practice session, qualifying, F1 Sprint, Grand Prix, driver interviews, and expert analysis. The agreement also includes coverage of support series such as Formula 2, Formula 3, the F1 ACADEMY, and the Porsche Super Cup. ESPN will broadcast F1 across its linear and digital platforms, including its OTT service, Disney+, ESPN Premium in Chile, and Fox Sports in Argentina. Formula 1 has experienced significant growth in the region, with over 150 million fans and a notable increase in female and younger demographics. Despite this, reports suggest that ESPN may not be renewing its U.S. broadcast rights for Formula 1 after the 2025 season, with NBC and Netflix reportedly in discussions for future U.S. coverage.

IndyCar Season Kicks Off with Record-Breaking Viewership

The 2026 NTT IndyCar Series season is off to a historic start, with the first three races of the season averaging over 1 million viewers on the FOX broadcast network. This marks the strongest viewership performance in the post-merger era dating back to 2008. IndyCar’s partnership with FOX, now in its second year, has benefited from consistent network placement and aggressive cross-promotion, contributing to its growing relevance in mainstream sports television. All 18 races are scheduled to air on FOX, with additional network windows for qualifying sessions, setting a record for network television coverage for the series. Globally, IndyCar is expanding its broadcast presence to over 200 countries and territories, with ESPN continuing to provide coverage in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, Brazil, and Mexico.

NASCAR is preparing for the 2026 season with significant technical changes, including a new 750-horsepower engine package for short tracks and road courses. This increase from the current 670 horsepower is intended to promote tire management and create more passing opportunities. The new engine package was tested by 15 Cup teams at North Wilkesboro Speedway, with the goal of enhancing competition. Chevrolet has also unveiled a new body style for the ZL1, and some teams are switching manufacturers for the upcoming season. The 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season will begin with the Daytona 500 on February 15 and conclude at Homestead–Miami Speedway on November 8.
